1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GenSmart ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

GenSmart is an online learning platform that connects students with courses created by teachers. We provide the technology and platform for course delivery, but the course content is created and owned by individual instructors.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform
  • One person may not maintain multiple accounts

4. Course Purchases

  • All prices are displayed in XAF (Central African CFA Franc)
  • Payment is processed through MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money
  • Upon successful payment, you receive 6 months of access to the course
  • Courses cannot be transferred to other users

4a. Purchase Channels

Course purchases are completed through the GenSmart dashboard app at app.gensmart.io. The marketing website at gensmart.io allows you to browse and preview courses, while the dashboard app handles enrollment, payments, and learning. Payments are processed via MTN Mobile Money or Orange Money with no additional platform fees.

5. Refund Policy

We offer a 3-day money-back guarantee on all paid courses. To request a refund:

  • Contact us within 3 days of purchase
  • You must not have completed more than 30% of the course
  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method
  • Processing may take 1-3 business days

6. Instructor Terms

If you create courses on GenSmart:

  • You retain ownership of your course content
  • You grant GenSmart a license to host and distribute your content
  • You receive 70% of each course sale
  • Your content must not infringe on others' intellectual property
  • Course content must comply with our content guidelines

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Extract, redistribute, screen-record, or re-upload course content. Encrypted in-app offline caching for personal study is permitted through the official GenSmart mobile app, with a 30 day expiry and automatic removal on logout or enrollment refund.
  • Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
  • Harass other users or instructors
  • Post misleading reviews
  • Attempt to circumvent any security measures, including the offline cache encryption
  • Upload content that infringes copyright, is misleading, or is inappropriate
  • Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the Platform

7a. Content Reporting

GenSmart provides support channels for users to report content that violates our guidelines. Reports can be submitted through support with details about the course or content item. Report categories include:

  • Inappropriate content — Offensive, harmful, or unsuitable material
  • Copyright violation — Content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Spam or misleading — Deceptive descriptions, fake courses, or spam
  • Quality issues — Content that does not meet GenSmart standards
  • Other — Any other concern not listed above

All reports are reviewed by our moderation team within 3 business days. We may remove content, issue warnings, or suspend accounts that repeatedly violate our guidelines.

8. Intellectual Property

The GenSmart name, logo, and platform design are our intellectual property. Course content is owned by respective instructors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any content without permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

GenSmart is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

10. Termination & Account Deletion

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings in the app, or by emailing privacy@gensmart.io. For details on what happens when you delete your account, see our Account Deletion Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Cameroon. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Cameroon.
