What is GenSmart?
GenSmart is Cameroon's premier online learning platform. We connect students with expert teachers who create high-quality courses for GCE O/L, GCE A/L, HND, BTS, BEPC, Probatoire, and many other educational levels.
Who can use GenSmart?
Anyone aged 13 or older can use GenSmart. Our platform serves students preparing for various exams, professionals looking to upskill, and teachers who want to share their knowledge.
What devices can I use to access courses?
GenSmart works on any device with an internet connection - smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. We also have mobile apps for iOS and Android for learning on the go.
Courses & Learning
How do I enroll in a course?
Simply find a course you're interested in, click "Enroll Now", and complete the payment. Once payment is confirmed, you'll have immediate access to all course materials.
How long do I have access to a course?
Each course purchase gives you 6 months of full access. You can watch videos, take quizzes, and study with encrypted in-app offline access as many times as you want during this period. Certificates you earn are yours forever.
Can I ask my teacher questions?
Yes! Every course has a Q&A section. Ask questions on any lesson and your teacher will be notified instantly. You'll receive an in-app notification and email when they reply.
Can I study without internet?
Yes. The official GenSmart mobile app caches course content for encrypted offline study so you can learn anywhere, even without a connection. The cache is tied to your enrollment and is automatically removed on logout, expiry, or refund. Direct downloads of course files are not provided.
What are learning streaks?
GenSmart tracks your daily study activity. Study every day to build your streak and stay motivated. Your streak count is visible in your dashboard.
Can I bookmark lessons?
Yes! Bookmark important moments in video lessons and jump back to them anytime. Your bookmarks are saved to your account and accessible across devices.
How will I know when my teacher replies?
You'll get an in-app notification and an email with a direct link to the reply. You can customize your notification preferences to choose what you receive.
Can I review a course?
Yes! Leave a star rating and written review after studying a course. Teachers can respond to your feedback, creating a helpful conversation for future students.
Do I get a certificate after completing a course?
Yes! Upon completing all lessons and passing any required assessments, you'll receive a certificate of completion that you can download and share.
Payments & Refunds
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money. All prices are in XAF (Central African CFA Franc). Payment is instant and secure.
Is there a refund policy?
Yes, we offer a 3-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with a course and haven't completed more than 30% of it, you can request a full refund within 3 days of purchase.
How do I request a refund?
To request a refund, contact our support team at hello@gensmart.io with your order details. Refunds are processed within 1-3 business days to your original MTN MoMo or Orange Money account.
Which mobile money services are supported?
We support MTN Mobile Money and Orange Money — the most popular payment methods in Cameroon. All prices are in XAF and payments are processed instantly.
Are there any free courses?
Yes! Many instructors offer free courses or free preview lessons. You can filter courses by price on our courses page to find free content.
Becoming a Teacher
How do I become a teacher on GenSmart?
Click "Become a Teacher" and submit your application with information about your expertise and teaching experience. Our team reviews applications within 3-5 business days.
How much do teachers earn?
Teachers earn 70% of each course sale. For example, if your course sells for 10,000 XAF, you earn 7,000 XAF. Payouts are processed twice monthly (1st and 15th) via Mobile Money.
How do I manage student questions?
Your Teacher Dashboard shows all questions across your courses in one place. Filter by course, answer status, or search by keyword. Students are notified instantly when you reply.
Can I respond to reviews?
Yes! Your Review Dashboard lets you reply to all student reviews. Students receive a notification when you respond, building engagement and trust.
Can I track my students' progress?
Yes! Your analytics dashboard shows enrollment trends, student engagement, Q&A activity, review sentiment, and earnings — all in real time.
Can I send messages to my students?
Yes! Create course announcements that are visible to all enrolled students. Keep them informed about updates, new content, or important information.
What can I teach on GenSmart?
You can teach any subject you're qualified in! Popular categories include GCE subjects, professional skills, languages, computer skills, and more. All content must follow our quality guidelines.
Do I need special equipment to create courses?
You can start with just a smartphone! However, for better quality, we recommend a good microphone and quiet recording space. We provide free resources to help you create great content.
Technical Support
I'm having trouble logging in. What should I do?
Try resetting your password using the "Forgot Password" link. If you still can't log in, contact support at hello@gensmart.io with your registered email address.
Videos are not playing. How can I fix this?
First, check your internet connection. Try refreshing the page or clearing your browser cache. If issues persist, try a different browser or contact our support team.
How do I update my profile or account information?
Log in to your account and go to "Settings" or "Profile". From there, you can update your name, email, password, and profile picture.
